Flying Eye Books is an award-winning children’s publisher based in East London, UK. Established in early 2013, Flying Eye Books was originally the children’s imprint of Nobrow before it grew to became an independent list, separate from Nobrow. Flying Eye Books focuses on attention to detail in design and excellence in illustrated content, with a focus on the craft of children’s storytelling and non-fiction.

Since 2013, an array of stunning and innovative titles has populated the list, including the award-winning Hildafolk series by Luke Pearson and the highly acclaimed Professor Astro Cat’s Frontiers of Space from Ben Newman and Dr. Dominic Walliman. We have published exquisite picture books and enchanting illustrated biographies from breakaway talents like Emily Hughes (Wild), Joe Todd-Stanton (The Secret of Black Rock, winner of the Illustrated Book Category for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2018 and The Comet, winner of the Carnegie Shadowers’ Choice Award for Illustration 2023) and William Grill (Shackleton’s Journey, a New York Times Best Illustrated Book of 2014 and winner of the 2015 Kate Greenaway Medal).

Being an international company at our core, we also actively acquire and translate some of the best children’s publishing from around the world for the enjoyment of English-speaking audiences everywhere. Many of our own titles are translated into several languages and we are proud to count the most prestigious international publishing houses as our licensing partners, from Paris to Seoul.

At the heart of what we do is a simple pledge: whatever the project, whatever the medium, genre, or format, Flying Eye Books will take children’s eyes on a journey of wonder!
